and im really not getting this whole "rendering" thing i mean is it just cutting out a pic and feathering/blurring the edges? i can do that in a minute with intelligent scissors and 2 seconds if the backgrounds solid-color
in gimp you select render or background
if render select->invert
then colorize white
then color to alpha=white
then blur/feather and done
or is there more to it?
