Dang looks like i was too late to the debate . But aren't we forgetting that Both countries have Allies? So this isn't just Russia Vs U.S ~ it is Alliance vs Alliance....in other words WW3.

Alliance is protection and a great acheivement, but ofcourse our own downfall of humanity.

It really depends. The Russian Federation have more nukes then the United States, but I assume most/some of it is outdated or not usable anymore, so that counts is lower. The chance of RussiavsUnited States is slim to none, unless one of them just randomly attack the other, the closest the USA and Russia went to war, is the Cold War and the Georgian-Russo War. However, if they go to war the United States and Russia each have good pros and cons. The US military is one of the best in the world and one of the most advance, the Russian have more manpower and more area to be capture. Even if the United States gain a foothold on the Russian soil, it'll be a hellhole sense you'll have to capture all of the Russian Federation to capture it. Sense the Russians are strong people and will not bow down so easily. The Russian also have one of the best special forces in the world: The Spetnaz, they are pretty badass and I trained with one before (he kicked my ass).

The United States have a more advance airforce and navy (slightly), the United States weapons are more modern and advances, also the United States have allies, the Georgians, the Ukranians, all kind of crap they can release into the Russia.

So who is the best?

Let just hopes, we shall never find out the hard way.

Actually not true, if Canada took over United States it'll increase it military supplies, economic powers, and show the world it is now a superpower. If United States took over, they'll have a lot of timber, this increasing th economic supplies of timber, also Canada is one of US oil suppliers, so Canada oil with be a nice treat. Also, United States will replace the Canadian bacon with the more, 'Northern American bacon.' :P


But you're right about them almost and will most likely never go to war.

You mean 80s, because in 1991, the Soviet Union was finish and the Russian Federation lost all of it Warsaw Pact members. Therefore, all the training would go to now NATO members and close allies of NATO, not Russia. Therefore the Russian lost all if it training to the military and also only the Spetnaz is highly trained. The rest is common Cold War tactic, just rush over 40 million people at the West Germany border with a crap load of division with the Spetnaz taking out commanders and important location. Who knows, the Russian Army today is still outdated and slightly understaffed. It even corrupted in some degree.

well from history, Russia never had enough weapons in WWI and WWII. Today they may be behind but strong. Remember what they did to China in the 60's(I think). They may be slightly outdated, but still dangerously equipped.

Actually not true, in WWII the Red Army had enough PPSH-42, SVT-40, and more to equip it entire army with very good weapons.

In fact the PPSH-40-43, is given to entire divisions allowing then to be a human wave shock troop.

5 out of 20 are given SMGs, 2 out of that 20 are given SVT-40, 2 out of 20 are given LMG, 1 out of 20 are given antitank. 2 out of twenty are given the SVT-40/Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle.
5+2+2+1+2=12 out of 20 have great firepower while the rest are armed with Mosin-Nagant rifles (39,40,42 version)

Let say you have a common 200,000 man division.

Around 90,000 would be very well equip, also they commonly steal German weapons such as the MP40 and the infamous STG44, adding to the ranks, so after that, we can say that around 100,000 are very well equip and trained.

So you have have that are armed with common bolt action rifle, the 100,000 men are send to rush the bunkers, taking heavy losses. Then you get the remainding 100,000 the ones with the good weapons and supplies and they suffered less because of the German lack of ammo, men, supplies, etc.
