To take out the darker part, Use a white soft brush ( on a new layer)
And then brush over the darkest part for a bit.
after you've done that, Set it to Soft light, and play with the opacity.
You can create many lightning looks this way.
Darker = black
lighter = white

The text doesn't need to be fancy..
Basic ones like Times New Roman, Arial, and Century Gothic look really good.
