Thats because you hadn't resized it to fit the size of your avatar specs, resize it and it will work.

Someone helped me re-size it to 150 x 150 as it should be, but it still doesn't work.

Is it because the file is to big. Isn't the limit like 250 kb?

If the image gets processed by MPGH, which it will if it's outside the restrictions, it will only retain the first frame. Now go figure which part of the restrictions you're not abiding by.
