Need to quit smoking

As the topic states I need to quit smoking I smoke half a pack a day and I'm 20 I started smoking back when I was in the army in 2010 now I'm a civilian and want to drop this habit but fail each time. I've tried the patch but it burns when I put it on and the gum doesn't work for me. I also heard of meds you can get to help quit but do they seriously work?

I don't know about meds, but I heard if you smoke a lot in a day and start throwing up you will eventually get disgusted and quit.

Well honestly all you have to do is just live through the withdrawal symptoms for a bit. Just get some self-control and don't go to the shop to buy some more.

Omfg I so feel you brother, except I'll be 19 this year. I don't want 3 solid years of smoking. I've tried quitting 4c already but each time I fail it never stops me from getting back up and try. Patches in Australia are very costsly ($30) so that's why I quit but I'e ordered a whole sale of nictoine patches ($50 for 150 patches) . Patches ain't my thing either, I've overdosed on it so many times but it has helped. If patches isn't working for you considering in buying a electronic smoke you can buy on eBay. They cost about $70 for authentic ones. The gum is just complete rubbish. Eat bananas as a substitute, exercise and patched is what I'm doing.

You can always buy one of those electronic cigarettes. They are nicotine free and they can get you to quit smoking. They are quite expensive though but it's worth a try.

I exercise every other day while smoking and I have an e cigarette doesn't really work the craving and that feeling of weight and pressure on your chest doesn't go away from using it. I managed to quit for 2 weeks about a month ago and then got hooked and I moved up from a quarter of a pack to half a pack now seems that each time I try and fail I end up smoking more :/
