    Max MP_Config Revision 6

    If you want Anti-Aliasing, i highly recommend opening your graphics control panel up, forcing 16x AF, and 2x Super-Sampling Anti-Aliasing (or 4x/8x if you have a uber comp)

    thanks. took a while to find the correct cvars. i reviewed a bunch of id tech games and there configs. quake 3 was the biggest help. The only thing i can find now that help is supersampling AA or SSAA. even setting it to 2xSSAA makes a huge improvement overall, but it taxes performance so much. If i wasnt gaming on a laptop i would enable shadows and SSAA.

    So far i have improved sound quality, directional cues, texture resolution, disabled texture compression, maximized curve limit, maximized allowable polygon count, highest LOD, maximized culling range.

    Thing like the wheels on vehicles, actually look like wheels and not a blob texture, boxes don't look bad, everything is more immersive.

    You might not be able to tell a difference in the sound quality unless you have a good headset/speakers. It should be easier to tell where people are coming from, even without surround sound.

    I highly recommend going into your sound settings, and turning on vsn/vsm/sound equalization/loudness equalization, and headphone virtualization. They work great in game, just not for listening to music. Also set sound format to 16 bit/44100 Hz. This is the game's default format, and helps with loading time, and easier to hear sounds.

    hit registration comes down to 3 things. PING, FPS, and PACKETS

    since this engine is based off a heavily modified version of the "id tech 3", you can find server articles based on quake 3 about the cmds to change/ the values you need. I could tell you the commands but you need values that reflect your in game performance. Because performance changes based on the map you are playing, who is host, and your connection to them, there is no universal "Perfect" setting. just ones that get close to your range.

    the setting i have now work great for a 100 +- 25 ping, with 60-90 fps, with 0 packet loss.

    im working on revision 7, but it hasn't changed enough to justify posting yet

    this is awesome, I really like it, I turned on Ambient Occlusion in the Graphics Panel and it looks awesome, there's black shadows around corners and bodies and on the blood , would recommend turning on

    EDIT: when you get flashed, you can sometimes see the shadow of the walls and stuff so it gives you an advantage, does this work for singleplayer to?

    yes, just copy all the variable over.

    also, i do like Ambient Occlusion. In fact, set the variable [seta r_ssao "0_Off"] to [seta r_ssao "2_High"]

    i turned it off because my fps dropped from 80-91 down to 40-60


    I don't mind 30-60 fps in singleplayer, so i turn all the goodies on. but in mp i love the edge of high fps.

    Yeah I did notice the FPS drop and thanks for the variable (should place it in your main post but warn them for good PC's only), also the variables are different to multiplayers, do I just replace all the seta with the ones you provide? I'm going to try anyway, I'll report back

    my next config will crush most pcs, but for now it has been a mix of performance and better textures.
