I do recommend you to use an official Middleman.

However, It's ok for me to not use middleman, BUT, I will not send the payment as a gift, instead it will be payment for an item or something in paypal.
But, I will put in a memo saying that I will not claim any dispute when I have the items in hand. So, this way, If I really do claim a dispute once I get the Item, you would have an absolute defense, since I wrote it in the memo.
Also, before I send the money, I would need you to link the staff to me first. Then, I would send the money right away.
I have dealt 2 weapons with this method, and both seller is satisfied with it. You can just email me your terms/method of payment. This is just a suggestion from me since I have done this method before.

Well, depends. You can do it this way:
Middleman gets the money, you send the item, as soon as item arrives, you get the money.
