    Random lag spikes on COD4

So, i've started to play COD4, and recently - i've started to get lag spikes? (fps)
Like randomly out of no where, it just freezes, then continues for about 1 second, and then freezes for like 4 seconds? over and over and it forces me to restart the game... :/

    Why is this happening?

Just a side question: I've been getting Losing Key Packets 9005 (Punkbuster) and i've looked at the Lagometer and i don't see and yellow/red areas (declines/lost packets)
~ i've updated PB, run pbsvc.exe, allowed it on my firewall + anti-virus restarted modem...

    Fine
Get something like MSI Afterburner (uses Rivatuner's core but makes it hella simple to use) and check what kind of temps you're reaching when playing the game and whether the gpu decides to throttle performance (lower clocks) when it's too hot or something. Are there any specific things going on when you freeze (such as loading new content, running into physics calculations etc.)?

hmm, ill try to monitor temps when PB decides not to kick me for losing key packets..

Umm, i dont think that there is anything on... no background applications like uTorrent ect are running... And the lag happens randomly...
and it doesn't like lag - it like freezes for a few secs, resumes for 1 frame, then freezes again
