Well Gamebooster already does what it does - closes as much background programs as it can. Honestly it only improves your FPS by a bit.

Anyways, your thread isn't really a 'problem' - it's more of finding a way to make crossfire run faster.

Try lowering the resolution to 800x600. Lower down the graphic options (bullet trace, smoke, weather effects, etc).

I heard in some places that when you set "bullet smoke" to low, or just get rid of it by finding a rez and deleting it, it will actually improve your FPS by a bit.
