The grip on the Espada is G10, the Recon Micro is faux G10. I prefer the mirror finish because I just feel it completes the elegance of the blade.

I can agree to that. I'm only a carbon coat fan due to the consistent quality in blade wear n' tear for softer items, though I do prefer stainless steel over carbon coat due to durability with denser materials. She's a beaut man.

Oh yea I agree. I had a ZT350 with a tungsten based DLC coating for reduced friction. Worked like a charm. Protected the blade from wear, was incredibly durable, friction mitigating, and non reflective.

That baby costs an arm and a leg over here, best I've ever gotten was a carbon coat machete with a slag-steel inner blade with a brushed finish for looks, she sliced through entire trees like butter. That was confiscated from me though because the "blade was too lethal"

The inner blade was made with glad pellets and wrought iron which makes slag, then it's tempered in an oven until it's hot enough to add the carbon to make it steel. A lot stronger than typical steel compounds but the process to make slag is difficult and expensive.

I'd probably be shot if I was known having that blade
