As for the "They cant have them" Argument.

I built a $4000 system once.
Had a hexacore i7 running @ 5ghz with a corsair water kit.
dual GTX 590's in SLI running @ 1ghz core
3 2tb Hard Disks(No SSD as per request)
All of that warped up in a HAF case = pure sexiness.

A mac cant compete with the customization options of a PC but its good enough for something out of a box. (Most PC's would be too if it weren't for the crapware)
For the rest of us good isn't' good enough and thus we overclock to the last megahertz, tweak till our fingers hurt, and bench till our vision is bury.

Every company in the world does that. And yet when Apple proposes an elitist campaign showing off its products, everybody hates them. Of course, Apple sells the Macs at a relatively high price (note the fact that this price is high for some people; for some others -forgive me- paying such for a laptop is more than ordinary) because it is based on that; it makes you believe that having a Mac makes you somehow better than others. I do not agree with this last idea, but that's what Apple is based on (just need to check all of the superlative adjectives in their products; 'The best computer. Yet.' 'It's never been so powerful.'...features the fastest, most powerful processors and graphics.' and so on and so forth). Therefore, it's only normal for them to put high prices on their products- who would believe his laptop makes him better than someone else, when it only costs 200$ and the average Joe can afford 4 of them? Once again, I do not hold myself with higher regard because I have a Macbook Pro. But that's what Apple bases its selling campaign on; that, somehow, getting a Mac makes you better.
