Mac doesn't have access to the DirectX SDK; which has won the API wars (OpenGl vs DirectX) since the production of the Xbox 360. Can you game on a mac? Yes, but you're limited to one API. On Windows both are implemented. If a organization is forced to chose between either of the APIs, DirectX is their first choice. Generally speaking, if an graphics vendor is to support one of either interfaces in their driver, it is DirectX. If they chose both, and DirectX is their primary target, the OpenGl interface usually isn't very efficient. It is also usually buggy with very little support.

Okay, you try recompiling your whole kernel and tell me its an easy fix.

You shouldn't have to recompile your entire kernel to get your machine working.


Also Mac is a despicable load of shit. Between Linux and Windows I am neutral (I use the right tool for the job.)

To those complaining about Linux's aabsence n the poll:
Stop complaining that Linux isn't apart of the poll; its a popular OS, but it isn't an organization and typically it isn't commercial. It isn't in the same catagory.

Let me clear this up.
I was going too add Linux onto the poll as well but I just wanted to see the balance between WINDOWS and MAC. I figured anyone rooting for Linux would just select neutral. So yes it is WINDOWS vs. MAC. sorry for the confusion.
