First step: take Aluminium foil and wrap it around the decoder/router/internet box whatever.
step 2: wait until it stops working and remove all Aluminium foil and call you'r network provider and say that your internetWHATEVER jsut overheated and that you need a new one..
step 3: there you go.

If you have a static IP, you have to call your ISP and ask them to change it.

You probably don't have a static IP Address. Most ISPs avoid giving static IPs to those who aren't licensed to host servers because if you have a dynamic IP Address, you can't maintain a server at the same host address.

Just wait a while, your IP Address should change soon enough. If not, try powering off your modem for like an hour and then reconnecting.

Well, yeah, but you have to routinely check your IP so you can update the DNS Server accordingly (or install software that does this for you...) It isn't typically practical for any major hosting.

Also, a domain resolves to the host address, it isn't the host address itself.

That's weird, I've always had static and hated the shit out of it. (Since I can't just change my I.P when I get banned from things.) And we don't pay a penny extra for it. :S
