    Question IS it possible to change the sound of the weapons ?

    Can this be made or no ? Like hearing the sound of the Intervention from MW2 when i shoot with the MSR. Can someone do that ? And is it bannable or not ? I don't think so, because it's like texturre modding. But i prefer be sure.

    Its possible, just dig up the files and replace them with your desired file. Its unbannable for sure, but make sure you dont currupt your files by entering wrong names and stuff

    Actually, it's not as easy as replacing textures. The weapons sounds are in none of the .iwd files and have never been in there, they're somewhere in the .ff files, most likely in the common_mp.ff - and you cannot really open those, replacing files within them even less.

    Actually, you can open them, and replace the content. Last year, me and some other guys from a Brazilian site we translated the game to Portuguese. All the text were inside the .ff files. I think the sound shouldn't be so different. There's a tool to open/save these files.

    .ff Viewer can open them.. but I'm not sure if you can modify them since they're encrypted.. For the translation a guy have made a tool to decrypt them... But i don't have it.

    The sounds inside MW2/3 .FFs aren't able to be extracted at the moment.
