About rep and such.

I know i'm not new here (been a member for over 2 years), but i still have no idea how this rep system works.
Do members rep others? does it gain as you post?

It's only when a member gives you rep. This can be done by clicking on the star icon on the bottom left of someone's post. Once hovered over it, it will say, "Add to this user's reputation" which increases their rep, the amount depends on how much rep power you have.

You cannot gain rep with posts. Also, I don't think you are allowed to beg for rep as well, not entirely sure though.

Also, a user cannot get negative reputation anymore since the de-rep option has been removed.

It is impossible to get de-repped. I think it was removed due to abuse. Don't take my word since I really don't know the actual reason so I can be right or wrong.
