It astonishes me how many people on Facebook don't even know grade 3 mathematics. The following picture was shared, and the overwhelming majority got it wrong.
Let's see how many of you edutards get this right.
Hint: PEMDAS
Edit: if you edit we know you got it wrong.

PEMDAS? dafaq? We use BODMAS or BIDMAS where I am...
Anyway, it depends how you approach it. Using PEMDAS/BODMAS whatever it'd be:
48 / 2(9 + 3)
= 48 / 2 x 12
= 48 / 24
= 2
If you did it from left-to-right, using standard order of operations it'd be:
48 / 2 x (9 + 3)
= 48 / 2 x 12
= 24 x 12
= 288

I'm getting it to either 2 or 288.
Considering your hint, PEMDAS, the answer you're looking for, must be 2.
48/2 (9+3)
= 48/2 x 12
= 48/24
= 2

2 and 288, depends on how you're taught.
Either way the answer is 288
because D is before the M
DIVISION before MULTIPLICATION
