you can host them yourself if you have ( jailbroken ps3 )

-3.55 PS3 with PSN access (follow this tutorial)
-The update PKG provided in the download section below

Considering the amount of people who still actually have a jail broken PS3 the chances are still great. Luckily they are just XP lobbies for now. When true modified lobbies come out then the game is screwed

Yeap, These are the modds he is referring to, 60,000 XP per kill and Capture. They are running these XP lobbies in domination for maximum XP gain.

I've been checking NGU alot recently for any developments in Borderlands 2 Modding but no such luck at the moment and this is how I found out about the XP lobbies

I'm considering on getting a 3.55 PS3 since I desperately miss modifying game patches. I remember when everyone had Geohotz' CFW and how I kept on constantly changing the modded patch for MW2 because I wanted to test out different mod menus.

Hopefully MW3 lasts for a few more months because it's actually more enjoyable despite the fact that I haven't purchased any DLC for it. I'm just not into the new maps :\.

Likewise, I've been looking for the correct modelled PS3 in every pawn broker and looking at pre-owned ones. I could get a slim model but I want a PHAT PS3 as it has better ventilation.

Yeah, I agree with you on the better ventilation part. I recall seeing a lot of auctions on NGU regarding 3.55 PS3s. I can't remember whether they were phat or slim, but they were 3.55.

If I can't find any phats, then I might as well get a 3.55 slim since all I really need is the 3.55 to mess around with the firmware.

Keep in mind that it hasn't been confirmed whether you get console or account banned yet. There have been numerous reports on how people got banned after participating in an XP lobby.

5,000 Days for a temporary ban is insane! Good to see they finally give a damn about their game, unlike MW2.

well it depends if you get banned

you can also just kill yourself ( with grenades etc ) then you don't get any score so you don't get into the leaderboards
but if you are hosting you will be banned for sure

and all leaderboards boosters will get banned I think

The suicide XP can result in a ban as well.

Also, I heard you cannot data transfer this to a 4.25 PS3.
