Anti-leech/Login screen

Greetings MPGH, I usually don't come out of the MW3 section but hehe, Hi I'm NadeHouse.

I have recently been thinking that many people leech our programs and post them on other sites, such as Chinese websites, German and many more just google search and release you will find over 20 sites :O

So I was thinking to myself, "How can we prevent this?" Some sites even goto the extreme of adding their own watermarks on our images and claiming it as their own even though we all have our names in big text and it stands out on their images

We could have possibly a new system where to get ours aproved we message it to a minion, they either submit the program into lets say a new MPGH launcher where every thing is in it and you just stream it, or add the login screen causing leechers to register on our site (just like how we have to login to access the forums)
Now I know programs can't have internet access but the minions should add this for safety reasons. What's there to loose?

If some Mod/Trusted member make the launcher and all programs use this same launcher... And @Dave84311 Agree with this, ofc.. I can't see the downside I hate seeing my stuff on other websites

How would you do it?
Just do a web-browser and use that to login and check if you logged in or not?
Access the database, not going to happen.


There is things you can do to prevent this.
I haven't tested so I can't say for sure but.

Check where the file is from... Check when it was created. If it dosen't match the original one. (Means someone edited it).
And if people want, they can mostly like bypass this stuff. How do we have like Photoshop and other "great" tools for free?
People crack and can earn money.

If it bothers you, don't release it.


But still, I think we should have like: You need to have been on this site for like 24 hours and have like 20 posts before you can download.
This could make us easy detect bots and leechers

But once again, won't stop em

If we cant get the login screen then that 20 post requirement would be a big win It will either cause MASS spam or many new interested members

I just looked around, and a good way I found to bypass this would be some posting requestments.
It would not even connect to the internet.

If you notice, that the browser changes Title for the site/thread you're in.
Make the user open a site over the program. (Like, send themselfs a PM with some special topic or so)

And check the process Title. (The WindowHandleTitle or w/e)

BUt once again, can be bypassed

There is much that can be done.

But still, I think the one thing I suggested to Dave a time ago.
If you know about banks, or WoW or other games, you just need a key that you get sendt to you.
You need to use that key to use the program.

And it changes every 10 min or so.
