Ok, personal opinions are.

First of all get SoTw Running, sort out all of the junk, so people are posting in the right sections, right now it's a bit of a mess.
Next what you want to do if SoTw is getting enough interest, is maybe start a league, such as a novice one, moderate one. Have a little tournament like that, but for that to work you guys would have to play people in the correct league, due to people being to modest. Award prizes for winners etc.
If that goes even further maybe why not go for the old clan graphic teams. Team of designers against others. That could be a bit more tricky but i don't know.

Just my personal views as a designer myself.
