It's possible. They've been secretly updating their client without changing the version number. The reason behind this is unknown atm...
I have been using clients for a while for duping and just general playing,
and I have heard rumor that they are monitoring for
people using clients. Not just duping clients. Does anyone
know the validity of this?

I think I will just avoid my main for a little bit just to be safe...
I noticed that when I updated my client today that is changed from
yesterday. You think they are using that to compile a list of users who
are using clients? That would be a very clever solution on their part

Is there a way to update just the client number without repulling the .swf page source and remaking the client?
ie: "https://www.realmofthemadgod.com/AssembleeGameClient[NUMBER].swf"
Since they keep secretly changing the current AGCLoader number

I think they dont need to change smg in the client . Maybe they can watch if you use the loader by looking servers log > If no loader "connection", you are suspicious.
Because we all know that using the raw unmodified client without loader only allow us to go on test servers..
They could make it sent an ''Im the secretly updated client'' code whenever it logs in. The server then keeps track on what accounts dont send this message.
That way they could indeed make a list of these users and give them a harder time at duping or more attention is payed to those accounts without having them to watch every single logged in person.
i hope they dont patch

Well, I got banned on 2 mules by testing my auto-trader.
Fail.
Shows Account under Maintenance in muledump and "Load Error, Retrying" when you try to login.
That would not make sense. Think about it this way, does google chrome update the cached swf everytime i log in? No it does not. Does that mean i will get banned for not clearing my cache before i log onto realmofthemadgod.com thus making sure i have the most updated swf?
Not every time you log on, but every time you load the webpage yes.

First time I heard of someone getting banned. Your auto-trader really that obvious? I suspect maybe you got flagged for spamming and got banned that way? Not sure how they are dealing with spammers now with their more aggressive stance against bots.
Maybe i need to change my settings cus whenever there is a new build that comes out, i need to wipe my cache so i can get the new swf loaded. Because no matter how many times i restart the browser, or hit reload it does not upload the new version.
That is just me though, don't know if anyone else experiences that.
Not necessarily, should work exactly like any legit person.
I guess it was cause I had 2 of them running at once spamming the same thing and I was able to easily create messages that aren't all on 1 line so it was taking up so much of the chat box? Who knows, one of the GMs must have been having a bad day.
