    DX10 Nvidia vs. Ati

    what will u be buying???

    Nvidia's 8800 GTX...or the new Ati beast the x2900 XTX ???

right now.....i'm truly lost...i have always been an Amd/Ati fan...to the dismay i currently own an outdated 7900...............................and fx60.............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..............so should i just do the whole double crossing and just go with intel core 2 duo and a 8800, or go back to ati/amd...or go with intel/ati???

damm this is a hard assed choice.....................and the reason i go for ati is because my dad is a supplier for Allegheny Tech.(aka the real ATI)

    WHAT ARE YOUR CHOICES??????????

ATI video + Intel CPU = Fucking Win.

Seriously though, the card all depends on what you want. I have to admit though, ATI's Linux Drivers are a bit unreliable, whereas the Nvidia GfX cards are well-supported.

Your CPU choice, however, is dissapointing. I'd go with the Intel, and, from what i've seen, the Most Capable ones are the Intel Xeon Quad-Cores. The Comp I use at work has one, and It's a Monster.

I never really liked AMD processors because the Only ones that seem to be worth a shit are the 64-bit ones...

    and 64-bit = Instant fail...

dear my little jackel...i have not made a choice yet...i currently own a fx60 and a 7900...which i got before conroe came out...i was asking for opinions about what i should get next...i was thinking about building in april...and the Ati 600's will be out then....

so i get that your choice is for me to get an ati 600, and a qx6700????

the point is i can be sure how the intel cihpsets will react to the ati card....i mean i dont even know if any of will support it right after it comes out...and it dosent than i have do this to my self>>>

Well, Since you're on a WinDoze comp, the ATI Support is unquestionable.
But, To make sure that you get the best performance from your ATI card, be sure to use NGO Tray Tools rather than the regular Catalyst Control Center.

The only problem i've had with ATI cards in windows is the trouble you have to go through to get a Dual-monitor setup to stretch the start bar/Desktop background between the two monitors (eg. start button in the bottom left of the left screen, system tray on the bottom right of the right screen, using only one 3840x2060 background.

Dual Screen works fine with em, they just want to clone the background.

Anywho, I'll upload and attach the NGO Tray Tools program when i boot back into Windows.

    Here's how it is:

    AMD 64+ NVidia = Suck
    AMD 64+ ATI = Awesome
    Intel 386 + ATI = Ultimate
    Intel 386 + Nvidia = Awesome
    Intel 686 + ATI = God's Gift to Video
Intel 686 + NVidia = LORD OF ALL THAT CAN BE CONSIDERED VIDEOGRAPHIC

7900gtx+intel dc and everything runs fine. Why do u need to get a new comp alrdy when urs is fine? you should wait a few months after dx10 so that they fix the bugs and refine the hardware.
