Airsoft hurts more for 3 reasons:
1. Snipers, that shoot at 450+ fps and always seem to hit you where you are least protected.
2. Full-auto, taking a concentrated spray of 350+ fps bbs at 600+ rpm hurts!
3. Ordnance, if you see the grenade, your f'ked!

you dont really need any armor for airsoft, I just wore my hoodie as armor, and it just stung a bit
