So, my school has dreamspark. I download all dat shit maaaan.

But seriously, has anyone else tried this yet? I tried out Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012 Datacenter Edition.
I right click my Sabayon Linux ISO file and click "Create Virtual Machine". I proceed to click le run after minor setup shit.
It boots up in a damned window, so I load up the 'ol Sauerbraten and the shit runs fast as hell.
I've got a desktop running Windows Server 2012 Datacenter to be used as my home server for random shit.
Has anyone else used this yet? I have a feeling this would be amazing for OS dev.
Excuse my random post, I'm loving windows server and downloading Windows 8 right now.
Also, each key is good for two legal installs of each program/os. ;D (Four copies of ws2012 datacenter! ~$20,000)


By the way, I'm running the vm on AMD Athlon x3 2.9Ghz, 6gb RAM, 500gb HDD, GeForce 9200 Integrated Shit, and it runs fast as
hell. The os dynamically underclocks the CPU as per workload requirements. It's the tits. I think I need to change my pants.

I have that same build, dreamspark too.

I love it, shit's way faster than windows 7. And the metro interface is actually a plus. I really like the way all the stuf I want to do is just a swipe away. No more start -> configuration -> programs... just windows button -> settings and done.

Windows 8 is epic. I don't why people are bitching about it. It's a lot faster, neater and has many improvements over the previous editions. If you read this review (Windows 8 Review - Complete Guide To New Features) you'll see what I am talking about.

I'm on a desktop computer/laptop, not a fucking phone or tablet. Sticking with win7...

For some reason W8 hates my computer. No matter how many times I try, it just does not want to allow it to run OC'd. It just crashes over and over. D3 wouldn't run. I get shot fps on other games (if they run), ad my build is damn fine. I hate the "I'm optimized for a tablet" look an bullshit, if I want an OS that looks childish and on your face I would get a Windows OS tablet/phone. I use a computer as a computer, not this crap.

If my hardware issues are addressed (talking to MS reps) then I wont mind it because I can add in the start bar, fix task manager, and mod it to get my Aero back. If not, it's shit.
