How are they gonna fix this damage?

I hope to god they can. But truth be told i don't know if they can fully patch this.
Can they ban players with unreleased items if those players may have payed money in game, and they necessarily don't have any proof that those were the players that were hacking.....? Could be classified as illegal?
And if they are gonna roll back, will they have to roll back back before the release of v4.0? That would result in lots of stuff players got legit being deleted?
And then if they do decide to only delete all the unreleased items from the game, then people will still have the hundreds of lifes and incs that are being spawned in?

I really don't know what they are going to do, but this looks like it will leave a permanent scar in the game. If it does then there will be a quit from me + many others.

(EDIT): What about these crazy amounts of gold people are getting? How will they classify if they bought these legit or if it was hacked
