If America takes Puerto Rico as a state, the food stamps and welfare rates are going to SKYROCKET. PR's resources aren't even that valuable as to put this much financial strain on the US. My opinion of course.

It goes both way's PR will have to start paying federal taxes which it is currently exempt from as a territory.

Few things to consider:
No territory that has voted to become a state has ever been denied by the U.S.
Unemployment in PR is around 13%
Currently PR has around 86bn of debt.
They use our money.
All PR born citizens are American citizens, should we deny people who are already citizens to officially be part of the nation as a state, especially if they have voted to be part of our nation?
