Played 2 matches and now I'm permanently banned from BO2!!!

Im using some random external crosshair and it works fine.. I usually use masters external crosshair on other cods, but on bo2 it lagged.. didnt get ban yet.. VAC never searched for external crosshairs in any game so its weird if u get banned for using it on bo2

On reflection it may or may not have been the crosshair tool? I also used a program called Game Booster which has video and screen capture features. It also has an FPS monitoring tool, which places a counter displaying your FPS on your screen. This works as an overlay to the game, so it may be that which it picked up on?

I am guessing that Treyarch's anti-cheat system or if indeed it is Punk Buster? Has a feature which either scans your PC for any background programs or processes that you have running. Or it scans either your game files or screen looking for anomalies? Either way it somehow detected something they have deemed a mod and therefore the ban hammer came down. Perhaps my experience can be useful to our esteemed coders and hack creators?

I also notice that they have modified the game's engine, so that there are less local files and no player config files. This may be a clue to how the game has been developed and a means to control those who choose to modify any files. I would imagine that this is aimed at texture modders and config tweekers???

PunkBuster has nothing to do with this game ... its Anticheat is VAC and some custom work that 3arc has done on the server/client side.
Gamebooster will not get you banned, if that were the case so would using xfire to livestream, or running fraps ...
Configs are there but encrypted so we cant tweak them ...

BO2 uses VAC, FPS is readily available in this game without a hack,

However they have so many problems at the moment I do not think all bans will hold, Instant crashing is offering a temp ban but the code is so broke at the moment both Nvidia and Treyarch are working on a fix.

Unless you were raging using a first release paid for hack I cannot see how you are manual banned, unless, you tried to use an old D3D hack with modified addresses, but that would be a VAC ban.

The D3D tool I used was only released in June, by a reliable coder on this forum. So I'm sure it was good. I contacted him and he advised me that I was the first and it is being used by over 3000 players in various games. So Treyarch's new anti-cheat system is a lot more effective than anything else we have seen? All I had running was the game, the crosshairs tool and Game Booster, so there's not many choices.

I am still waiting for Activision to come back to me with the outcome of my case review. Hopefully they may well show some sympathy on me and reverse the ban? If not I will put a complaint into the BBB and see what that does? Any-ways I'm not too bothered as I returned the original game to the store today, claiming it would not install. And they have swapped it for a brand new copy. So I'll be back in action PDQ!!!

A crosshair isn't a hack, but a tool what just draws a plus on your screen.
How noob does this sound to say? Very, but I hope you know why..

I can use a hook method which is known by VAC and release it.
Stuff isn't about the release date but what's inside, if I use that hook method you can be 100% sure you get banned, no matter on which day.

I literally played 2 matches and at the end of my second game I got this message:-

"An error saying that this account has been permanently banned from playing on the Black Ops II servers". WTF

The only thing I was using was master131's external cross hair tool. So I'm guessing that they have some sort of detection tool in place, which picked that up? Either way this is totally FUBAR and and made me soooooooooooo

I am pursuing some answers and hopefully reinstatement??? TBC
