Fucking Maintenance

I don't know what happened but now my computer is corrupted.

It wont let me create new files, or download things from Chrome.

I'll get a directory or file is corrupted error. Or a could not allocate temporary data error or something. I need to get Windows 8 downloaded again from somewhere and re-install it now.

This all happened after CA Patch

I can't format from this hard drive.

It crashed and I got a quick replacement, it doesn't have any support to format it. I'm fucked. Need to get Windows 8 RTM some how and gotta re-install it.

Hopefully it'll accept it.

What kind of hard drive is it? Unless it's a flash drive i don't know of a hard drive that you can't format.

I don't know. My dad got it done from the IT guys where he works.

From when BIOS loads up there is no option to format available from there.

I usually just format from my windows disc.
Chuck a windows 7 disk in your CD drive, boot from the CD drive and then go into the Win7 installer, it'll ask you what hard drive you want to install it on.
Select the HDD you want to format and then click "Extra options" then there should be a format button.

Windows 8 ignores the Windows 7 disc and just boots up Windows 8

Damn, the only other thing i can think of is making the CD top boot priority in the BIOS.

The best option I have is trying to get Windows 8 downloaded from an IRL friend of mine. Which I have to find someone

It only fixes half the problem, if you stay on Windows 8 CA aint going to work, right?

It worked before the patch. I'll just hope for them to fix it again.

I tried it on a store computer and i just couldn't get used to the fact there was no start menu.

So i'm going to get used to a crappy OS with no start menu and no CA compatibility and i am yet to find an AMD driver that supports my graphics card for windows 8.

If you use anything for any period of time, you will get used to it.
