Arma 2 Oa CD key

Hey I need help with changing my arma 2 oa cd key on steam, When I change using a cd-key changer it just makes me have my regular cd key and does not change it at all

After you changed the key you cant start up arma 2 OA trough steam anymore because it will reset the key. Instead use a program like DayzCommander or Sixlauncher to start up Dayz,

But isnt the registry file in my steam?

f your using steam and want to Disable steam from updating your CD Key. (If you've used the CD Key Changer.)

1. Goto start and search 'regedit'

2. Navigate to, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\Arma 2 OA

3. Right click the folder go to 'Permissions'

4. Click on advanced

5. Go to administrators and click edit

6. Find 'Set Value' and check the box 'deny' and accept changes

Next time you run arma 2 through steam the CD Key will not update.

I use this method.

Yeah basically you can only use steam if you are using the key that u had when u bought arma 2 OA. If you changed your key to any random key, you will either need the steam acount with the key, or download "DayZ Commander" which is basically a launcher for dayz that allows u to easily download/update any arma 2 or dayz maps. It works. Though i think i should point this out. Change the key, then do it. Then if your key gets banned undo the deny change key then redo it. The reason for this is because after you deny the set value the key changer stops working so you must undo the changes and redo them. Sorry its hard to explain.

Do i still run it through steam or dayzcommander

Well, i don't run through steam. But you can. It makes it so it doesn't automatically update the key. Change the key before you do it though the tutorial though.

APPLY ALL CHANGES EXIT OUT AND THEN RUN.

No, the change was succesful just that its a bad cd key now.

Undo the changes then. This method always works for me. Are you running like through the actual steam window? Try running it through DayzCommander

on my dayz key changer i checked the key and it says Bad Cd key contact customer support
