I knew from the start there was more about Unohana than they were letting on, this chapter confirmed it. This was a great chapter, the depth of Ichigo's power deepens. I feel that we are know going to see Shunsui's bankai, this probably being the reason he was promoted.

Thats not how kenpachi works.

It goes to whoever is the strongest, therefore Zaraki was the strongest of all the group. She was the first strongest, then other people came along.

Kenpachi is given to the strongest "of that generation", not the strongest Shinigami of all.

That means the Kenpachi of previous generation can still be stronger. Seeing as how Zaraki isn't even properly trained, I'm pretty sure he isn't stronger than Unohana.

Lets remember why Zaraki named Yachiru that name. It was out of the respect he had for Unohana, knowing Zaraki, it was respect of he strength.
