i for one am not going to give up my right to own the firearms i own and the right to buy as many firearms as i want

Shit like this anymore doesn't even phase me. I may sound like a psychopath, but hearing about these kinds of tragedies don't even make me flinch or feel a lot of remorse. It's a usual thing in the US; hearing it on the news, seeing it in movies and games, it's like nothing phases me, or probably a lot of people in the US. Yeah, it's tragic, but it feels so common like waking up everyday that it's no different whether you hear about it or see it.

I mean, kids on Facebook and at school would look at you like, "How could you" or "You're a monster / psycho wtf how could you not feel sorry for them" - It's not that I don't feel sorry for them, it's that I'm so used to these tragedies, and happenings, that I really don't even care. I mean, think about it. None of us in 3 months will remember the kids' names who died in the CT shooting. The name we WILL remember is the guy who did the shooting. Just like Columbine here in Colorado - we don't know 1 name of the kids who died, but we know who the shooters were.

Really, look at the rate vs. the count. America is pretty good, along with China/India. Of course, in an ideal world, we'd have little to no killings, but that's not realistic when you open your doors to immigrants.

It's not a count, it's a rate.
I believe it's the average number of murders for a state in a sample of 100k people.
