Why is runescape dying? (YOUR opinion is what i ask for!)

they asked for our opinion on the free trade release.. but they didn't ask us if we wanted the EoC.

They failed to mostly listen to their player base both subscribed and free to play, they did their own thing instead of just listening.

well yeah but either way do you think they would've released free trade anyways since that was one of the reasons the game was dying? I don't know its just my take. I think the vote upon free trade was a stunt to just obtain the players who quit in the first place because of free trade being taken away, they never even told us the amount of votes that would change their minds, they just said okay here's a voting button, press vote if you want free trade back but we wont tell you how many votes will change our minds, maybe 100 or 1,000,000! Like really? That's such bullshit, plus they let you vote as many times as you wanted, you could have even used any valid runescape name that wasn't even yours. Also there was advertisement on that voting page so guess what? More money for Jagex! Oh and EOC was just a major failure, no one ever complained about the fighting system, it was one of the reasons I think made runescape popular, the simple hit block hit block that anyone could understand. Now with EOC you have to study it and know how everything works, much more complicated than their original fighting system.

I used to play in 04' till 08'. Great days. I'm surprised at the comments though... Never knew RS got bad.

RuneScape started dying when Jagex made a new question once every half an hour. No way could I keep my cape up. Then they ruined it completely with EOC and unless they revert it then I'm not going back.

Why is runescape dying?

Runescape died ever since they first took away the trade limit. THE FIRST TIME. All the merchants were like mehh... (like me) Then they tired to bring it back hoping it would bring back some people but it never did.. Then Runescape was sold to a weird company??? That started putting advertisements for Non-members? It's like WDF is going on??? Then they took it off claiming they "cared" But it just didn't work and died altogether. (: Cheers.

Let's see, I'll make quick list:

• Too many updates
• Don't take suggestions from users
• Slow game
• Fighting system is too complicated
• If you quit for a year, and came back you wouldn't know it's the same game

My personal opinion is that the people who first started playing it back, way back, are growing up and have better stuff to do.

My realistic reason, which is the reason I quit, is because of the ridiculous EoC update. If we wanted WoW, we would go play WoW. If we want to play RS, we want to play RS, not WoW. Silly Jagex.

I just think we all matured and found games that are much better in comparison to the runescape now. We still cherish the memories that we once had but now we just gotta leave it to the next generation.
