Essentially they have two competing products which doesn't make sense as a company. They chose skype over MSN due to is world wide acceptance and the fact that they just spent billions of dollars buying it. They're putting all their chips into skype this time and hopes it works out. Unless skype's messanging aspect of the program vastly improves they might have a large group of their userbase pissed off. I already use skype often as its my go to choice for gaming VOIP so hopefully they spend more time on the messaging.

Microsoft has 2 social media, one is bought with lots of moneys and the other one is made by them self, they dropped msn because they will waste their money if they drop skype.
