    this is how you set up your project:

    1. project -> properties -> configuration properties -> c++ -> Additional Include Directories:
    add this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)\Include

    2. project -> properties -> configuration properties -> linker -> Additional Library Directories:
    add this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)\Lib\x86

    3. project -> properties -> configuration properties -> character set -> Not Set

    if you have sdk dec 2006 you have to edit my path
