Noted, I'll improve on it when I do something similar again.

Image> Apply Image > Gaussian Blur 5.0 > Set to Lighten.
Then you can add like Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen > Edit > Fade Sharpen 50% Set to lighten or leave as you want.

also with renders try using multi coloured.
i find that 1 coloured renders such as that purple one would be hard to work with.

depending on how you use it tho.
