Aaaand what are you worried about?
The engine will be Take-On-Helicopters (A flying sim).
Now take a look at the environment / Animations / Walking / Driving / HUD. Its the same as in ARMA 2!
Aaaand what are you worried about?
?
That will be a bugfest like in arma.
Can't wait to try some haxor skillz on this new standalone!
No... rocket said the reason it's taking so long is that they are making their own engine..
Lolz, they are not building an engine, they are using the Arma2/TOH engine but heavily modified, delayed because thunder being stolen by all these other mods.

I don't care really, I just hope they will improve hack detection and ban all the hackers instanteniously.
Oh you mad people, you mad?
My friend is using VA since a long time (1-2 months) and he is still playing with his first key. So invalid comment nitro.
ArmA 2 = Real Virtuality 3 engine
ArmA 3 & DayZ SA = Real Virtuaity 4 engine
AFAIK.
Step-by-Step guide to improving DayZ/ArmA2/ArmA2:OA FPS
Depending on who you are, I might or might not
sell dayz hacks, not scripts, hacks. PM if interested.
Well keep in mind both engines are in their development phase.
More oppinions please!
Uh, no.
The engine has nothing to do with the environment detail; I'm urging myself not to call you an idiot.
Keep in mind that TOH is a FLYING sim. Why would you waste GPU on loading textures on the ground when you're in the air FLYING A FUCKING HELICOPTER.
Also, animations, textures, etc, can ALL be redone. They're not tied to the engine. This is what some people just don't understand.
Imagine an engine in a car. You can put the engine in another car, and won't even realize it.
Look at Unreal. Unreal Engine has made COUNTLESS games, and do they look the same and/or play the same? FUCK NO.
Of course, bugs will be present. BIS isn't quite that good at checking for bugs. But I have a feeling the community will annoy the shit out of the devs until they get what they want.
After the recent twitter release, look a bit on the forums; I feel a bit more confident.
