    Just search Deviant Art for some tuts or join a graphics forum. Theres plenty to choose from. In fact theres plenty of good tuts on MPGH. My advice is to get Photoshop coz 90% of tuts are for PS. Of course you need a half decent computer to run it smoothly.

    You didn't waste anyone's time, just try to get photoshop and do some tutorials. I've never worked with GIMP, but I've heard it's really difficult to work with.
