After that, you can sometimes even spawn into a players line of sight who was already shooting at someone else! Oh, and the best part is when you spawn on the other side of the map, where noone at all is, and you have to walk 5 minutes to the objective, while the enemy team spawns on top of it.

you just have to learn where the next objective is going to be , and even if the enemy spawns there you won't lose the game because of that .

hurr durr too much action but I hate walking for 5 minutes with nobody around so I play BF3 instead.

Its an arcade shooter. Ever since 4 it has been. Its not supposed to be deep, intricate, or engaging. Its cheap, quick, non-dedicated fun. Thats why it has so many players. Just like why LoL is more popular than DotA. It has a lower common denomiator, so more people enjoy it. The only problem with this entire situation, is like what eth pointed out, because of how trendy CoD is, and its ludicrous monetary backing, other games are trying to tap into that success by emulating features of CoD.

So everyone who sits there and is like hur dur CoD so cheap, no story, bad gaem, is actually making themselves look like idiots, because that is what they are going for (besides the bad game, its a mostly bias based statement, and unless articulated, holds no actual value).

So to articulate why your OP was stupid, and bandwagon of r/gaming, I will point out to you why CoD still holds some actual value.

CoD was released in 2003. 10 years ago. It established one of the most authentic 'gritty WW2 shooters' and was very unique for its time. CoD2 was released in 2005, and while keeping the same theme of gritty WW2 shooters, changed a good bit. Regen health being the big one. But the core game was very similar because changing something that is good is dumb unless you are working to push it forward. CoD4 was released in 2007, and made some huge changed. Too many to list. W@W a year later, and was pretty much just continuing 3arc's trend of being IW clones. MW2 also changed a lot. Like a lot. Same for BO, MW3 had many big changes, and BO2 had some of the biggest in the past 3 years.

CoD has changed a lot over the past 10 years, but people dont want to admit that because it takes away one of their easy arguing points to look smart.

Barely. Every game since CoD1 has changed some kind of mechanic in the game that would be downright impossible to attempt to implement as DLC. Imagine the difference between TFC and TF2. By your logic, because they both have guns, and the same name, TF2 is technically TFC DLC right?

maps too small

Arcade shooter. Very few people find it very fun to wander around a forest for 10 minutes looking for something to shoot at. The maps are designed to be packed with action because its a twitch based arcade shooter. If you can't handle fast pace, stick to playing other games, because CoD is not where you belong.

I love CoD. CoD is so much more fast-paced than BF3. And the fact that you're spawning into a bouncing betty and claymore just mean you suck. (With the exception of FFA) I ALWAYS play in a full party so we rape and have fun.

But why would you play it on PC..

I used to play on alterIWnet (private server for Modern Warfare 2) before it was shut down by Activision, so I'm going to talk about MW2
The gameplay isn't shit Imo, because I run around with a class which 99% asserts dominance, and at times a round gets so hectic I get an adrenaline rush which feels great
The only part about maps I don't like would be the limited entry/exit, but other than that they weren't that bad
Vacant, one of the small maps, was a map that I loved because in a 9 v 9 match there was so much happening at the same time and it was thrilling to play
As for the community I wasn't into it, I just played the game
Played on PC because I'm a PC gamer and because of dedicated servers
