The Resurgence of Metal?

In the highly fickle one hit wonder recording industry, there always seems to be a genre, that at the time, is the most popular. However, if you look at the cycles of popularity, time and time again Heavy Metal rears it's ugly head. Any metalhead knows about the NWOBHM (google it) invasion of the early 80's, and how it influenced a generation of iconic metal talents, such as Metallica, Testamant and Megadeth among others. Though competing with the glam rock hair bands of the decade, metal was on top. Then in the early 90's, a flannel clad monster appeared from the Northwest. They called this monster Grunge. Most metal bands lost industry support as all attention shifted to Seattle. Only a few elite survived. And metal seemed to be dead....again.
But no matter how many times you bury it, this monster claws it's way out of the grave to wreak havok. With bands such as BFMV fast gaining popularity, even getting airplay on mainstream radio, noone can deny that metal is alive and well.
Love it or hate it, you can't kill it.

Metal is too underated. BFMV have done brilliantly for themselves, although metal is only just breaking through in the UK scene, in America it's been alive for a while.

BFMV is metalcore
not metal 100% different genre...
only reason they are considered some what metal is that they do COVER SONGS from Metallica.

Metallica sucks dick, pre-Burton metallica was the best, but there is no metal in them since they came out with there self tittled album metallica
Testament is still hanging in there, but you gotta say they getting old... being weakened by diseases hasn't stopped them, i gotta admire them for still being in the game
