Just bought a monitor on craigslist. I got it. It's a 23.5 In. SAMSUNG Syncmaster. It has HDMI and everything and runs at 1080p. Is this a good deal or what?

I got it for $59.99. And it only has 3-5 hours of use.

After about an hour of use, it started flickering. It flickers dark and light. Then it turns off. I have to turn it back on and after about 30 seconds it does it again. :/

That's probably why it was so cheap, you've setup the right amount of hertz and all the settings are correct right?

You have a remote with it right? Go onto the menu and select 'Restore Default Settings' or anything that looks similar. Then, tinker around with hertz rates and other potential factors causing this problem.

not sure if good deal or scammed im running a dual monitor setup atm consisting of one 23 inch samsung led monitor and a old 14 inch with multiple lines of dead pixels

Well my 2 monitors cost me around $350 for the two.

1 IPS and another almost 5 year old LCD. Monitors at walmart are fairly expensive, at least they were 5 years ago.

I bought the LCD for $200 5 years ago. The IPS I have now ran me $250 from about a year ago.
