Planning to build a rig

My birthday is coming up and im planning to build a custom rig

Hoping to get these specs:
Intel Core i7 3770K CPU - 3.50GHz
Z77 Motherboard
16G DDR3-1600Mhz RAM
1TB Hard Disk
ATI HD7850 Graphics card
Antec Three Hundred Case + 600W PSU

It is approximately going to cost me $1100, if i buy parts in Australia.
Also any improvements that can be made? Should i get SSD's/improve my graphics card

If i build this rig i will have about $300 left over to buy a monitor or to improve it a bit more.

I play on playing games such as dayz/arma 3.
These games are very CPU incentive, and not quite optimized.
Not sure if the 3770k packs way more punch than the 3570k or there is just a slight difference. Thanks for the help.

i7's are usually just for the name. I have a i5 3570k and no problems on any games with my 670-FTW graphics card. All games running 50fps+ including BF3.

If you are using the computer to play games which I believe you are, then don't get 16GB of RAM. Most games can get away with 4GB of RAM.

Do you require that much storage in your computer? If it's just a couple of games here and there, I would suggest a SSD. If not, then keep your 1TB hard drive.

4gb? No. Atleast 8gb. I have 16gb and it greatly increases performance - but 8gb is the minimum for intensive games.

Price difference between 4GB and 8GB is like $10 or something, it's worth it to spend that extra ten bucks and get 8GB.
@xXBrokenBonezXx, you'll definitely need to get a higher wattage PSU. 750W would work but I would suggest anywhere from 850-1000W, that'll give you some room to upgrade your GPU or even run a xfire setup later if you want to go down that road.

Could also save a bit of money and go with AMD which I always recommend.

Stay away from the Bulldozer lines of CPU's. They have their power in the right place, but hyper threading is still nowhere near a big of a factor in games that would warrant buying an FX CPU, or any >4 core CPU.

4 GB is more than enough to play games with, 8GB is probably the max. As mentioned though, price differences between 4 and 8 GB kits are miniscule. G.Skill has plenty of 8GB chips for like $50.

And a 750w PSU is plenty. Even if you Crossfire later, you are still well within the clear. (<400w) Buying a PSU with more than 750 is usually for very specific cases of overclocking. And even if you OC'd that setup, with 2 7850's, you are still pushing under 500w. Just make sure you are getting a quality PSU. Ones that come with cases can be iffy. I would recommend any Seasonic or Corsair PSU, with an 80+ Gold rating.

Two days ago I bought a new computer with i5 3570k and 7870 and 8 GB RAM. It only cost around $900 with 1 TB HDD Space. It runs DayZ at high settings at 50+ FPS

The amount of RAM doesn't really affect the performance.
You got to look at their CAS timings and their clock speed.

would bring the build just over 900 minus 100+ if you choose the I5 which is all you really need and i like the coolermaster cases my self they are a way better deal dollar for dollar so it should be about 825 leaving you alot of cash for an awesome monitor maybe upgrade the video card to the 7950 also and still be in at 1300
