Where to begin GFX

Can anyone redirect me in the right way to begin as a GFX artist?

When i started.
I just downloaded photoshop.
Watched a heap of tutorials, and then just went from there.
I started making small things like youtube backgrounds and things like what i have for my sig and avatar.
But then it lead on to me now designing websites and other things.

IMO starting with gimp or paint is doing it wrong. Throw yourself in the deep end and go for it!

When i first started, i started out with Photoshop, and then i went to this site
Beginner Signature Tutorials | Sigtutorials.com

and worked my way up, the sites forum is pretty much dead but they still got good resources and tutorials.

Start by using photoshop and look up sig tuts, that's how I started, or do combat arms rez modding.

Hmm what I did was downloading PS7 (easiest of them all), start toying arround with the tools. Adding different tools layers etc (btw this version still included the vector creation program within the program itself).

Also what do you want to do,
Rendering, DigiArt (exp. Vector, 3dSculpt, wallpaper designs, drawings ... etc.), sigs.

Just watch Tutorials on Youtube and then
start with Paint.net (:

and buy a book

It's not really that hard to learn fast.First just get used to Adobe Photoshop.I just brought out a image and started being creative and actually got some good signatures/avatars/backgrounds.Good luck

Best way to really get into gfx is to get yourself photoshop or gimp ans just explore the tools. Be creativ and you wont need tutorials. Actually there are to much people just following tutorials and not thinkingof any things they could do .
