Mercenary Briefing:


The highest level members of the UAF have been working on a secretly sanctioned project for years. A new form of mercenary (known as Specialists); carefully selected and raised from birth to be the ultimate combination of strength, stealth, brilliance, and skill. From the beginning of their training, two of these Specialists quickly established themselves as clear leaders of the group. Scorpion, named for his ability to survive in any situation, and Viper, named for her quick and fatal attacks. Their aggressive competitive nature led to rapid promotions, and soon they were the first choice for every mission the UAF needed carried out. Now, the best of the Specialist Mercenaries, Scorpion and Viper, are available for hire.





Specialist System:

Specialists:

Specialists are special, high-level mercenaries. Specialists can be bought either with GP by players with a high rank, or with NX. Although Specialists have unique abilities, they are easily identifiable because of their different look. This will allow other players to be prepared for their equipment and functions.


Male Specialist (Codename: Scorpion):

A Specialist, hand-picked amongst an elite group of soldiers for his brilliant mind and excellent physique. He is equipped with a special Combat Suit and can use a variety of Special Items with a diverse set of functions.



Specialist Female (Codename: Viper) :

A Specialist, hand-picked amongst an elite group of soldiers for her brilliant mind and excellent physique. She is equipped with a special Combat Suit and can use a variety of Special Items with a diverse set of functions.



Special Items:

Specialist characters have access to Special items. Special items can be purchased either with GP by players with a high rank, or with NX. Specialist characters do not have a backpack. Instead, they have one Special item slot, in place of their backpack slot. One Special item can be equipped per play round. Only Specialists can use Special items, since regular characters and mercenaries lack the Special item slot necessary to equip the Special items.

Four Special items will be released for the June launch:

Claymore:
A defensive, anti-personnel land mine utilizing a wireless detonator. The Claymore projects tiny steel fragments in a fan-shaped pattern, devastating enemies with its terrific explosive power.



Satellite Scanner:
A military grade portable scanner that reveals the locations of hidden enemies. Scanned data is transmitted to teammates via satellite, giving fellow soldiers an edge over the enemy!


Medkit:
A military syringe developed by NEMEXIS that is injected directly into the bloodstream. The Medkit restores a set amount of HP. Because of its portability, it can come in handy in the middle of combat situations when it is impossible to call on a medic. (Note: The Medkit can only be used to recovering one's own HP.)



M32:
A 40mm semi-automatic, six-barreled weapon with a revolving magazine. This rapid-fire grenade launcher gives increased firepower to foot soldiers.

Combat Arms will be going through a content update on Wednesday, June 24th, 2009 beginning at 11:59pm PDT.

This involves all game servers and will last for approximately 5.5 hours.
