You can change the view to any objects by calling setFocus method of GameSprite with the GameObject you want to follow.
The _-0qN/_-1Sx class in 13.0 helps you so you can specify a playername or or other objectNames. From what I saw, I think if you enable the developer console you can just simply type "follow <playername>" and probably works, I haven't tested it. Note that I don't know exactly in which build it was added first, but it was added along with the _-0qN/_-1Sx class so you can use it without coding.
