C++ is designed for developing games that's why it's better , but let's talk seriously everything has its bad and its god so choose what you're good in .

Ok, im just asking because a friend and I are going to learn one of them over the summer and we don't know which one. We are quite good at coding because we've just finished our computer science GCSE.

if u will study informatic u should start with c# else u can choose what u like more u can do with c# got some stuff whats difficult in c++ and c++ got some stuff thats difficult in c# and as [D]opeDog said c++ ist most used language for games

C# is no way in hell similar to C++. Personally I code C# and it is much easier than C++; C# is used for making personal programs and C++ is designed for writing to memory making it perfect for game hacking. If you want to start game hacking go with C++, if you want to make some programs to release go with C#.
