Language barrier.

If you look at the japanese VA's they can do all sorts of characters, even gender swaps, however the English language doesn't allow for this in most cases.

The best VA's in my opinion are generally the ones closer to the age of the character. However a lot of the time Japanese VA's get certain points across just so much better that its ridiculous to even try in DUB

Hmm the dub really seems terrible but still better from most than I've seen lately. well since 2008 or something though some of it reminds me of those mid 90's - early '00 hentai dubs which sound horrible when there is actually something happening (no I do not mean the other way... cause there are H- with stories, too bad ). Also try some of elfenlied(or vandread ... the male characters in particular) if you want some of the plain voice acting. But if I have to listen to dubs I'd choose Dutch or German dubs (maybe french) cause they still do act and lip-sync quite well. Even though my country is the worst for not even showing naruto on public teli. *sob* only hope is when our Flemish neighbors translate it.

It's average considering the standard english dubs.
Still, prefer Jap voice, Eng Sub.
