Well this is my guess to why its illegal, AP is brought with real cash money, so therefore if you are hacking or bugging AP you are stealing from the company, and if they notice you've been stealing from them well im guessing they will then take legal actions against you

See it as a workshop, you sell tools, there is this ONE guy who doesn't want to pay for those tools. He takes the tools without paying. Is it illegal? Yes

With a company like aeria i highly doubt that they will start a law suit or anything like that for some damn AP. Worst thing that could happen is you getting ip banned or hardware banned.
