PS: Don't watch some episodes of one, and then a few of another. It makes it harder to get engrossed in an anime. Watch one anime at a time (preferably in one sit down).

Umm kinda never watched Anime so dunno really , but I always hear Naruto and One Piece here and there

OK, so you want to start out with
HunterXHunter
it's pretty amazing and it's still airing but has 79 episodes so far.
Then move to SAO (sword art online).
Then move to Attack on Titan.

These are my top three animes right now.

If you want to watch something semi-creepy/sadistic watch Code Breaker.

And on top of all this.. if you like Inception/Prestige/Movies that make you think.
Then watch Code Geass.

Just look them up and read there descriptions find one that peaks you interest and start with it when your done repeat until there's none that sound good.

Watch the Hunter x Hunter 2011 version.
I promise you.
It's one of the best anime's out there.
If not the best.

TO THE OP:

Steins;gate. It is a good anime for beginners.

Totally agree. I recommend it too.

I don't think you'll have to worry about that with angel beats it is a very good anime.

If you like the a dirty humor i would suggest Gintama it is awesome.
If you like more of the school life/romance i would suggest Clannad.
If you like mecha i would suggest Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann or Code Geass
If you want a samurai anime i would suggest Rurouni Kenshin or Samurai Champloo
If you want a super hero anime i would suggest Tiger & Bunny
If you want a supernatural anime i would suggest xxxHOLiC
if you want to watch something with vampires i would suggest Shiki or hellsing
If you want female cutting up monsters with large swords watch Claymore
If you want an anime about two brothers trying to get there body's back with alchemy watch Fullmetal Alchemist
If you want little girls with guns watch Gunslinger Girl

If you find a genre you like i might be able to give good suggestions.
There is so many amazing anime's it just depends on your taste.

From those I underline Gintama, Fullmetal Alchemist, Gurren Lagann, Rurouni Kenshin (this one I loved it).

These are the ones that I watched that originally got me into anime.
They might get you into anime too

 

1. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (slow start, but very emotional and strong.)
2. Evangelion (if you watch this after Gurren Laggan, you will think that all anime is about fighting robots, yet they are not.)
3. Elfen Lied (this shit will lick your ball sac at first, and then tear it apart.)

Even if you think that you don't like moe (moe anime is pointless anime that is just comedy.) at least check a few out, but only after watching the three I mentioned, and the ones mentioned above.
PS: Don't watch Bleach or One Piece. Just don't watch them; srsly.

Elfen Lied is short but good. Especially if you are into bloddy stuff. Evangelion is like super awesome, but the last 3 episodes burnt permanently my mind and I am unable to recover. I just couldn't understand what was going on. Also, I recommend Bleach till the end of Aizen series. From then on it's trash (and I was once an hardcore bleach fan, but I still like it Im watching One Piece right now and it's becoming super cool too!



My personal suggestion would be, apart from the ones above: Inuyasha, Air Gear (even though at episode 26 the series was cancelled), Black Lagoon, Btooom!, Dragon Ball, Another, Gosick, Demonbane, Hunter x Hunter, Initial D, Last Exile and Little Busters!

Elfen Lied is short but good. Especially if you are into bloddy stuff. Evangelion is like super awesome, but the last 3 episodes burnt permanently my mind and I am unable to recover. I just couldn't understand what was going on. Also, I recommend Bleach till the end of Aizen series. From then on it's trash (and I was once an hardcore bleach fan, but I still like it Im watching One Piece right now and it's becoming super cool too!

I watched bleach up to the aizen arc too(skipping all the filler, there's a lot of filler).
I'm reading onepiece i didn't really like the punk hazard arc but its getting good after it.

Agreed. I already read Elfen Lied Manga. I Started reading Air Gear Manga but It was long as fuck and since I had other titles I stopped for a while. Also, Bleach is filler after filler anyway. Actualy, I stopped watching cuz of a filler.
