You can can reset your dynamic IP address by :

    1. Opening the Windows Command Prompt located in Start -> Accessories or Start -> Run -> Type in either "cmd" or "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)

    2. Type in "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes)

    3. After releasing the IP, typie in "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes)

If the instructions above doesn't work, you can set a manual IP address by :

    1. Going to Network and Dial Up Connections in the Start -> Control Pannel

    2. Going to your local area connection

    3. Click "Properties"

    4. Click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"

    5. Then again click "Properties"

    6. Selecting the "Use the Following IP Address"

    7. Entering an IP address available on your network

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR STATIC IP

    1. Open up the command prompt by pressing Start->Run and typing in cmd

    2. In the command prompt, type “Ipconfig/all”. This will tell you your current IP Address. After, type “ipconfig/release”. Keep the command prompt open for easy access.

    3. Go to “Network Connections” (accessible through the control panel). Right click “Local Area Connection” and click “Properties”

    4. With “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) selected, click the “Properties” button.

    5. A new window will open. Under the “General” tab, select “Use the Following IP address”. Under “Ip Address”, put “10.0.0.1″. Press the “Tab” key on your keyboard.

    6. Press Ok on both open windows.

    7. Repeat steps 3-4. Under the “General” tab, press the radio button “Automatically Assign Me an Ip Address”. Press ok on both windows.

    8. Go back to the command prompt and type in “Ipconfig/all”. You’ll now notice you have a new IP address.

IMPORTANT :you need a direct connection to your modem and computer. If you have a router, disconnect it and directly hook up your modem to your computer.

    Cool
Thanks for the info. Everyone probably knows it already but it might help someone that doesn't.

Note:This does not change your static Ip adress. You must call your isp to change your static ip adress. This does infact change your dynamic though.

Look up dynamic and static ip's if you are confused on the subject.

Wrong section btw, look for the tutorial section.
