    Budget: $600

Hey guys, so it was my birthday recently and I have raked in about $600. So I was wondering how future-proof of a computer could I build with $600. Keep in mind that when I say futureproof, It should be able to run in full resolution with at least 60 frames per second on triple A titles such as BF4 or COD:Ghosts. If possible, please design a computer with a nVidia card, as most games are much more well optimized for nVidia rather than ATI (unless you can convince me in some way to get an ATI).

$600 and future proof, eh. Well, hm. This is what I came up with.

    Case - NZXT Source 210 $39.99
    *CPU - AMD FX-6350 Vishera 3.9GHz Six-Core Processor $139.99 OR AMD FX-4350 Vishera 4.2GHz Quad-Core Desktop Processor $129.99
    RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3-1333 CL7 $64.99
    Video Card - PNY GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 $179.99
*HDD - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM $69.99 OR Get the 500GB drive to save $10 (There's a drop down box to select that)
    Motherboard - MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ $69.99 + $4.99 Shipping
    Powersupply - CORSAIR CX430M 430W 80 Plus Bronze $49.99

    * Indicates where you can choose a different item to save money

Total - $619.92 (6350, 1TB HDD) (You can save $20 by getting the 4350 and the 500GB HDD)

Please don't stone me for breaking the budget!

Don't know how "future proof" that will be, but for $600 it seems pretty good to me.

You're skimping out on the PSU which you should never do. I'd suggest going for: FSP Group AURUM GOLD 600W (AU-600) ATX12V /EPS 12V CrossFire ready 80PLUS GOLD Certified Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Newegg.com It'll benefit you in the future.

How exactly is it "skimping" out on the PSU? It's simply a lower wattage one, which he doesn't need a 600 watt PSU for a single GTX 660. He maybe would if he were to dual-SLI the GTX 660, I suppose.

Actually, a GTX 660 2GB should be able to crank out some pretty nice frames. But thanks I guess for your "constructive" help.

    And what about the processor?
Games don't just use the graphics card.

quality settings don't really matter much, resolution is what really matters.
(the difference between playing on console and pc is resolution)

no not really, go test in BF3 and you will see. ultra settings vs low settings dont even make much difference on 1080p res, however switch the res to say 1024x768,

Well mine system is also low budget:

    Intel 4x3.4 GHz
    8GB RAM
GTX 660 non TI with 2GB

Runs Crysis 3 around 45-60 fps @high settings.
    25-35 fps @Very high

You should probably buy a better GPU and RAM to be able to play that game
