    Recommendations for a Shotgun Microphone

    Amazon.com: Rode VideoMic Directional Video Condenser Microphone w/Mount: Musical Instruments

    Been thinking of getting of this one. However, I want to hear if anyone has recommendations for microphones. My goal over the summer is to work on a short film. Any ideas?

    I don't have a lot of experience in this department, but I'd make sure you look around for something to make absolutely sure this is the one you want.

    Read about reviews and all kinds of things on this, before making up your mind.

    It also depends on where you'll be creating this short film, ex. Being on a windy mountaintop, your going to want to make sure the wind won't blast the mic.

    MKH-416, if you want cheaper MKE 300 has a wider sound stage. Rode isn't bad but i've heard the diaphragm breaks easily.
